Several updates about Conference have been made in April:

  • The Western North Carolina Annual Conference is scheduled for June 18-22, 2014 at Lake Junaluska.  The clergy session will be held on Wednesday, June 18 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Opening worship is Thursday, June 19 at 10:00 a.m. All WNC deacons and elders in full connection, provisional and associate members, and local pastors under appointment are expected to attend.  Clergy who cannot participate should request an excused absence.  Retired clergy and those on leave of absence will be excused if not present. Please send a note to Bishop Larry M. Goodpaster and send it to Rev. Kim Ingram, Conference Secretary, at kingram@wnccumc.org (preferred) or P. O. Box 18005, Charlotte, NC 28218.
  • The WNC Conference Commission on Archives and History will recognize all churches celebrating their 100th, 150th, and 200th anniversary during 2014 during Annual Conference in several ways.  If your church is celebrating one of these anniversaries this year, please contact the Rev. James L. Pyatt, Chair of the Commission on Archives and History, by May 1. All churches recognizing significant anniversaries this year will be recognized at the Commission on Archives and History’s display at Annual Conference and in a PowerPoint Presentation to be shown before and after several of the conference sessions.  Please send your responses to jpyatt@wnccumc.net.  Thank you!
